Planning Decisions Committee registration

1. This form is for applicants and objectors/or supporters to register to address the Planning Decisions Committee.

If you simply wish to attend to watch the meeting, but do not want to speak, you do not need to complete this form. If you are neither the applicant (or their representative) or a formal objector and you register anyway, your registration will be cancelled.

In what capacity do you want to address the Committee? *This question is required.

Rules for addressing the Committee

At the meeting, the Chair will invite everyone who has registered to address the Committee. The applicant will speak first, and then the objectors or supporters in order of registration. When your turn comes, come forward to the microphone and:

direct your submission to the meeting Chair;
confine your submission to the planning permit under consideration;
if possible, explain your preferred decision in relation to a permit application (refusing, granting or granting with conditions) and set out any requested permit conditions;
avoid repetition and restating previous submitters;
don't ask questions or seek comments from the Councillors, applicants or other submitters; and
if speaking on behalf of a group, explain the nature of the group and how you are able to speak on their behalf.

You will be provided a maximum of five minutes to speak, but do not need to use all of this time.

Comments not allowed

When you are addressing the meeting, don't make any comments which:

relate to something other than the planning permit being considered by the Committee;
are defamatory, indecent, abusive, offensive, irrelevant, trivial or objectionable in language or substance;
are aimed at embarrassing a Councillor or a member of Council staff;
include or relate to confidential information; or
relate to something that is subject to legal proceedings.

Your agreement

By addressing the Committee, you agree that your voice will be recorded and your name will be published in the minutes of the meeting.
