RIBA Building Contracts Survey 2026

Introduction

Thank you for agreeing to take part in our survey.

The RIBA Building Contracts 2018 were developed to balance risk fairly between clients and contractors, use plain English, comply with UK regulations and consumer laws and simplify the administration for domestic and small commercial projects.

We are now commencing work on a new edition of the RIBA Building Contracts and would value your feedback on the current content of the contracts and how they might be improved to better meet the needs of clients and contractors, and help streamline project management and reduce disputes.

Please submit your response by the deadline of 9th October 2026.

What you need to know:

Most people complete this survey in around 10 minutes (though this can depend on the answers you provide).
All information is treated in confidence.
Only two of the questions are compulsory, but please answer as many as you can.
RIBA will use the findings to help develop training and courses for leadership.
The survey is carried out in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and the RIBA privacy policy. Taking part is entirely voluntary.
