Mileage rates are a huge issue for public service workers as around 1 in 5 roles require staff to use their cars, whether they're visiting patients, caring for people in their homes or visiting apprentices on their placements.
As fuel costs have soared, mileage rates have stayed the same for fifteen years. Hundreds of thousands of frontline staff have been left significantly out of pocket.
The team at UNISON have been campaigning hard to get rates reviewed - and it has paid off! Last month, the Chancellor committed to a "workers-first" mileage rates review ahead of the next Budget.
It's now down to us to help shape what a workers-first review looks like, and we need your help. Can you tell us what you use your car for, the difference an increase in mileage rates would make to your life, and what you think the review should take into account?
It's important that those in power know what it is like on the frontline of public services. So, we will be compiling all of your answers into a report which we will deliver to 11 Downing Street so that the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, can hear from you first hand.
Complete the survey and make sure your voice is heard. (It should take between 5-8 minutes)
