You are registering your interest to take part in a roundtable discussion about the barriers that may make it harder for students from certain backgrounds to progress into, and take part in postgraduate study. We are interested in the views of PhD students from a range of backgrounds on this issue.
This is part of a wider research project commissioned by the Martingale Foundation and delivered by Public First which will examine how much less likely students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are able to progress into postgraduate study, why this is, and how it can be addressed.
To be eligible to take part in this study you must be:

Currently studying for a PhD

A UK home student, not an international student

Studying a STEM subject

Identify as having come from a low-socioeconomic background
If you are selected to take part in a roundtable discussion, you will receive a £75 Amazon voucher as thanks for your time.
Roundtables will be 75 minutes long, held online via Zoom and start at 4pm. The dates will be confirmed subject to participant availability, and you will have the opportunity to state your availability in the form below.
We will reach out to you in late March to let you know if you have been selected to take part, and to confirm dates.
How we will use your data
We are collecting the information below to help us select participants for our research and to allow us to analyse our findings. This information will be used for the sole purpose of achieving our research aims for this study, and will not be used for any other reason. Your data will be held securely on the Alchema platform. No one beyond the research team will have access to your data and your data will not be shared outside of the UK.
