For several years now,
SCVO’s Fair Funding work has led to tangible progress. Organisations across the sector have echoed our calls for Fair Funding, MSPs and committees have raised the topic in parliament, and the Scottish Government has pledged to introduce Fairer Funding, including a multi-year funding pilot and improvements on timely notifications, by 2026. “Fair Funding” has become part of the ongoing discourse.
However, more progress is needed and, in order to make that progress, we believe we need to reframe our Fair Funding asks.
Until now, our asks have been clear and coherent in a technical, policy sense. But we now want to tell the story of a sector that is so vital in a whole array of areas, using the words of organisations on the ground to do so.
What do we want to get your views on?
This questionnaire is relatively straight forward but your input will be invaluable. We want to know a little about your organisation, particular the areas in which you work. But, above all else, we want to give you the opportunity to raise your voice, to use this questionnaire to share your feelings and thoughts on the current funding landscape in Scotland for voluntary organisations and the impact that it has on your organisation’s ability to provide support, services, and projects.
What we will do with your response?
Using a variety of direct quotes from respondents, which will be anonymised, we intend to build a clear, accessible and emotive narrative that outlines the reality of our sector’s current circumstances, across differing areas of work and government priorities. And we hope that the resulting product, based primarily on your input, will provide the sector as a whole with an irrefutable case for Fair Funding.
All responses will be anonymised in any reporting, and any identifying information will be kept confidential and stored securely.
