Our training sessions are tailored for regions and local authorities, guiding you through the essential aspects and proven methods for effective stakeholder and citizen engagement in climate adaptation. The sessions focus on engagement activities that can benefit regions in the design and implementation of different steps of the adaptation cycle – everything from preparing the ground for adaptation (Step 1 of the RAST) to monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the adaptation plan (Step 6 of the RAST).

How can we find ‘unusual allies’ by involving citizens in adaptation planning through the use of arts, sports, and culture? In this session, we will share several examples of ‘unconventional’ methods of engaging citizens and raising awareness of climate change, and will show how these tools can be applied in practice. The session will include different experience sharings from Tiarnan McCusker from Galway city presenting the Climate Festival, Stefanie Geiter from KLIMABÜNDNIS presenting the Climate City Walk in Graz City, Rogelio Bonilla from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Énergie Environnement presenting the ClimaSTORY tool and Gustavo Chiquin and Nicola Vuolo presenting the The Nettuniani innovation, winner of the EU Sparks for Climate hackathon.
