Education Reform: Responding as a group of young people

Education Reform: Responding as a group of young people

This consultation is about school and learning. It is for Professor Ken Muir who is looking into how education works in Scotland. It is for use with young people of secondary school age or who are under 18 and attend college.

This tool will help a group of young people to talk about and record their views about secondary school or college. You can complete it online. Whatever statements you choose to respond to, please complete the survey by clicking through to the very end (100%) - and if completing on a desktop computer, click the ‘SUBMIT’ button.

If you don't want to do the survey online you can download a printable version from childrensparliament.org.uk/education-reform/, use it in hard copy, and then post it back.

There are 17 statements. We want your group to discuss as many of the statements that they want to. After discussing the statement with the group, use the textbox to tell us how many young people Strongly disagreed - Strongly agreed with the statement, as per the scale shown below, and then make a note of some of the young people's reasons for their choices. We want you to write down some quotes that help us understand how young people feel about the statement. There are no right or wrong answers, it’s what young people think that matters. We have provided the following image on each page as a prompt for your conversations.

On the last page, there is an open text box for you to note any other comments that the young people have made.

This consultation is being managed by Scottish Youth Parliament, Children’s Parliament and Together.
