Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

Sexual harassment, as defined by the Equality Act 2010, is when a person engages in unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature, whether verbal, non-verbal or physical, that creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive working environment.

We are undertaking this survey to assess the extent our members have been subject to workplace sexual harassment. By workplace we include any location where you have been working, including online.
1. Have you been the recipient of unwelcome sexual advances, propositions or demands for sexual favours in the workplace?
2. Have you had unwanted or derogatory comments or nicknames about your clothing or appearance whilst in the workplace?
3. Have you been subject to intrusive questioning or suggestions about sexual issues in the workplace?
4. Have you received or been shown unwanted and inappropriate sexual comments or images, by email, text or on social media in the workplace?
5. Have you recieved comments of a sexual nature related to your sexual orientation or gender identity whilst in the workplace?
6. Have you been subject to unwanted physical contact such as the invasion of personal space or unnecessary touching, hugging etc whilst in the workplace?
7. Have you been subject to sexual assault, indecent exposure, stalking or rape in or connected to the workplace?
8. If you have been subject to any of the treatment described above, has it been from?
9. Have you witnessed, or been aware of any colleagues who may have been subject to sexual harassment in the workplace as described above?

12. How confident would you be / have you been about raising sexual harassment with your employer, and it being treated seriously?
