Edge Foundation Data Protection Policy
About this Policy
The Edge Foundation complies with the law and regulations relating to the privacy and protection of personal data and takes these obligations seriously.
The Edge’s data protection policy is prepared in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Data Processing Principles
Under Article 5(2) of the GDPR we will demonstrate compliance with the data protection principles.
Privacy Notice
The data collected includes: name, place of work i.e. school/college or employer in relation to the individuals participation in the Edge Future Learning training covering Real World Learning, Project Based Learning and Community Connected Learning. Individual data is being collected via questionnaires, which are being used to evaluate our practice and give participants in the programme the opportunity to feedback on their experience. The data is being collected with the consent of the individual completing the questionnaire. It may also be shared with other partners involved in the delivery of Edge Future Learning.
Data Retention
In the event, for any category of document not specifically defined in this Policy and unless otherwise specified by applicable law, the required retention period for any document will be deemed to be 7 years from the date of creation of the document. Please note that these are default retention periods and there may be circumstances in which the records are kept for a shorter or longer period.
Data Security
We will take steps to ensure that there are adequate technical measures to secure personal data held by us and our IT service providers will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing our technical measures. We will also take steps as an organisation to ensure that staff are aware of our and their obligations in relation to personal data generally and to take security precautions.
