Background to the survey

How the survey findings will be used
The findings from this survey will be used by the Foreign Policy Centre (FPC) as part of project entitled Understanding the British Diaspora to help broaden understanding of the British Diaspora in Washington DC and Brussels, especially on how they interact with the UK Government. The survey is seeking to capture a snapshot of respondents’ views about their current engagement with UK Government institutions, what they might want from the Government and what their issues or concerns might be.

How the survey will be conducted
  • All responses to this survey will be collected anonymously
  • Alchemer (formerly SurveyGizmo) was selected as a secure survey platform. More information about the security of the survey platform can be found here.
  • The survey comprises of two sections: 
  1. Background information
  2. Engagement with the UK Government or British institutions
  • The majority of questions are tickbox based, with some space to add detail if needed. 
  • Separate to the survey we would welcome additional information and there is space to do this at the end.
  • It is envisioned that the survey would not take more than 5-10 mins to complete.
