UNISON members survey for cleaners

UNISON has over 40,000 members working in a role that includes cleaning as all or part of the job.  To support what is often a very overlooked part of the workforce, we would be keen to understand how training and promotion opportunities works for you and what the barriers might be to progression within your organisation.
If you do more than 1 job that includes some cleaning work you can either complete this survey for each job or pick just one and answer about that job.
1. How long have you worked for your current employer?
2. Do have a copy of your contract of employment including a written statement of your pay and other terms and conditions of employment i.e. pay for any sick leave and number of days annual leave?
3. Are you paid at least the National Living Wage?
(As of April 2020 it is £8.72 per hour for those aged 25 and over, £8.20 for those aged 21–24, £6.45 for ages 18-20.)
4. Are you paid at least the Real Living Wage / London Living Wage?
(The real Living Wage rates for 2020/21 have been announced as £9.50 in the UK and £10.85 in London.)
