HistoricScot Youth Forum survey

Welcome

Hello! Thanks for taking this survey, it should only take around 5 minutes to complete.

This survey is all about your experiences and thoughts about the historic environment and Historic Environment Scotland.

What is the historic environment?

Put simply, the historic environment is the physical evidence of past human activity. It connects people with place, and with traditions, stories and memories linked to those places.

The historic environment could take the form of a stone circle, a prehistoric fort, a medieval castle, a Renaissance garden, a stately home, a townscape or a landscape. It could be a factory, mill, battlefield or shipwreck.

What is Historic Environment Scotland (HES)?

Historic Environment Scotland (HES for short) is the lead public body established to investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s historic environment. They ensure our historic environment is cared for, valued and enhanced, both now and for future generations.

People can join HES as members for a small monthly fee to get free entry to historic sites and other benefits too.
