Psychedelic Facilitator Survey

About the Survey

Thank you for choosing to participate in our survey! This study aims to assess psychedelic facilitators on aspects of their practice that may vary across settings and treatment types, to help us understand the landscape of approaches and strengthen the methods used in future psychedelic trials.

We recognize that many psychedelic facilitators do not consider themselves or are not trained therapists. For the purposes of this survey, however, we will use the term "psychedelic-assisted therapy" (PAT) to describe any facilitation of psychedelic experiences, regardless of whether it was for therapeutic, ceremonial, spiritual, or other purposes.

The survey does not ask any questions that may be personally identifiable and collects no IP addresses. The research team will keep your data safe and secure and will also follow all privacy rules. You are free to withdraw from the survey at any point with no risk of your data being collected; however, the anonymized nature of the questions means that after you submit the survey, you will be unable to retrospectively request your data to be withdrawn.

In addition to using the information gathered to inform future psychedelic clinical trials, we will disseminate the key findings of this survey through an open access peer-reviewed journal, meaning that the results will be freely accessible to everyone, not just those who are working at an academic institution. Furthermore, the findings will be presented at relevant conferences. Please email hbarnet1@ic.ac.uk indicating your interest if you would like to be kept informed of the status of these publications. As your survey responses are completely anonymous, you will likewise not be identifiable in the data we publish.

The study is not intended to encourage the use of psychedelics. The research team’s objective is to instead learn about the practices of therapists who conduct PAT on their own initiative. Please review the study’s Participant Information Sheet for more detail about the purpose of this study and the data that we will collect.

In addition to having experience conducting PAT, you must be 18 years or older and have a good command of the English language to take this survey.
