NFDC HEALTH & SAFETY AWARD 2022

THE NFDC AWARD NOMINATION PROCESS

Award entries will open on 8th December 2021 and close on
the 14th February 2022. 

All nominations are treated in confidence. They are scrutinised by an independent Judging Panel of demolition and construction industry experts, who will select the shortlist, ‘highly commended’ nominee and the ultimate winner based on the criteria set for each category. 

Nominations must be submitted online and supported by either video, or written evidence. There is a strict word limit of 1500 words for written evidence and this limit is inclusive of all supporting information.

All winners will be presented with the Award Trophy at the prestigious NFDC Awards Luncheon, which follows the AGM on 25th March 2022 at The Landmark, London.

THE NFDC HEALTH & SAFETY AWARD 2022

This Award will be given to a company that has shown continued and special dedication to Health & Safety in the demolition industry, demonstrating an exemplary health and safety performance.

The Award will be given in recognition of the Federation’s policy to promote high safety standards and go beyond expectations with a safety culture that puts people first. 

HEALTH & SAFETY AWARD CRITERIA:

 
  • All nominees must be active NFDC Corporate Member Companies with ‘Compliant’ status at the time of application.
     
  • Nominations may be made by Company Directors or Employees of that Company.
     
  • Nominations must not be made for another Company – this is a ‘self-nominated’ Award category.
     
  • Nominees must be able to provide specific and tangible examples of how they have worked to ensure a safer working environment for their Operatives.

    For example; Health & Safety Training, efforts to foster a culture of Safety on site, anecdotal examples of employees’ safety behaviours, details of demolition projects where the company and workforce demonstrated superior awareness and safety performance, investments in improving Health & Safety, Best Practices, Participation in NFDC Working Groups, Voluntary involvement in development and dissemination of Guidance etc.

     
  • NFDC will not accept nominations from any Company who has experienced a major incident within the last year (2021)
     
  • Judges will look favourably on Nominations which include relevant supporting information. 
    For example; references or client testimonials, health & safety statistics or reports and/or case studies that support the Award entry.
